Ken Wright Wines
While waiting tables to put himself through school, Ken was exposed to fine wines from regions around the world. The passion became avocation when Ken left the Bluegrass State to attend enology and viticulture classes at UC-Davis. Eight years were spent winemaking for Ventana Vineyards and Talbott Vineyards in Monterey County of California’s central coast.

In 1986, with family, belongings and 10 barrels in tow, Ken moved to McMinnville and started Panther Creek Cellars. His concept of focusing on vineyard-designate bottlings began during those years at Panther Creek and was cemented as a core philosophy in 1994 when Ken Wright Cellars was founded in historic downtown Carlton. The rest as they say, is history…

2014 Abbott Claim  (Amity Valley) 750ml  – $59.99
“Sleek and focused, restrained in style but presenting ripe blueberry, plum and floral flavors that glide into a long, lithe finish. Sleek and deep, lingering with harmony. Drink now through 2024”
94 points, Wine Spectator

2014 Freedom Hill (Amity Valley) 750ml   – $59.99
“Floral & Spice Focused Black raspberry, Bing cherry & fresh turned earth mingle with delicate floral notes. Bright acidity and minerality combine for a juicy mouth feel”
94 points, Wine Enthusiast, Editor’s Choice Award

2012 Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve (Willamette Valley) 750ml   – $72.99
“This includes grapes from the winery’s Jerusalem Hill vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, in addition to the Dundee Hills sites, hence the more general Willamette Valley designation. It was aged in 65% new French oak for 16 months. It’s open and generous, offering bright berry, cherry and red currant fruit matched to defining acids, all set in a fine-tuned frame of new oak. Re-tasted 24 hours after being opened, it remained fresh, dense and satisfying.”
94 points, Wine Enthusiast

“Focused, vital, ripe and distinctive, with a coppery note weaving through the strawberry and raspberry flavors. Hints at clove and root beer as the finish persists. Drink now through 2022.”
93 points, Wine Spectator

Beaux Freres Wines

2014 Beau Freres Vineyard 750ml  – $99.99
“Supple, expressive and multilayered, with plum, currant, pomegranate and violet flavors coming together harmoniously, persisting into a long and exceptionally well-balanced finish. Drink now through 2024.”
95 points, Wine Spectator

“Attractive spice and stone aromas here with plenty of ripe fruit, too. Medium to full body, firm yet velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Seriously seductive. Gorgeous. Drink or hold.”
95 points, James Suckling

2014 The Upper Terrace 750ml  – $109.99
“Limpid ruby-red. Explosive, mineral-accented aromas of red berry liqueur, cherry cola, vanilla and potpourri, accompanied by a sexy floral overtone that gains strength as the wine opens up. Juicy, concentrated and expansive on the palate, offering intense black raspberry, cherry compote and floral pastille flavors and a touch of cola. Displays an extremely impressive interplay of power and finesse, showing a seamless texture and a firm mineral spine. A strikingly long, sappy finish features smooth, sneaky tannins, resonating florality and a lingering suggestion of five-spice powder.”
95 points, Vinous / Antonio Galloni

“Supple, velvety, focused and distinctive, with smoky, minerally accents around a core of cherry, raspberry and blueberry fruit. Finishes with presence and persistence on an open texture. Drink now through 2024.”
94 points, Wine Spectator

2014 Willamette Valley 750ml  – $69.99
“Bright ruby-red. Suave, oak-spiced aromas of ripe dark berries, cherry cola and minerals carry a zesty floral overtone. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry, cola and lavender pastille flavors plus hints of mocha and spicecake. Shows impressive clarity and spicy lift on a very long, fruit-driven finish that’s shaped by even, slow-mounting tannins.”
92 points, Vinous / Antonio Galloni
